We will be Celebrating Earth Day 2018 on April 22nd, from 9:00am to 12:00 noon. Dixie Divers and Island Water Sports along with the City of Deerfield Beach and the Broward County Department of Parks and Recreation will be conducting the 4th Annual Earth Day Deerfield Island Park clean up.
The event will consist of volunteers on kayaks and paddle boards going around the island picking up any garbage that has drifted onto its shores. Dixie Divers and Island Water Sports will assist on kayaks and paddle boards to coordinate the cleanup and help to transport the trash that is collected and bring it back to the dock at Sullivan Park. From there the Deerfield Beach Recycling Division will take over and process the collected debris.
The event will begin at 9:00am on April 22nd, 2017 and end at 12:00 noon. We believe this cleanup will be a great event for the community showing the pride of Deerfield Beach residents and its surrounding areas. It will also be a good opportunity for our young adults to get community service hours for their work.
We are looking for volunteers for all aspects of this event, from kayaks to paddle boards and small water crafts (boats, jet skis, etc.) and of course their operators. Please call Dixie Divers 954-420-0009 if you can help with us!
To REGISTER for the event, call Quiet Waters Park at 954-357-5113
We appreciate any attention and support you can put towards this cause. Thank you in advance for all of your assistance and cooperation!
