  • WHAT: Led by Broward County’s Human Services Department and Broward Behavioral Health Coalition, One Community Partnership 2 and United Way of Broward County Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention will host The 3rd Annual Wellness Day.

    • In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month (May), One Community Partnership 2 and its partners will be hosting a FREE fun-filled day of activities including yoga, African dance, massages, friendly basketball and kickball games, lyrical expression, photo booth, healthy eating demonstrations, resources, and raffles. There will also be an arts & crafts tent with tie dye painting and coloring meditation.
    • OCP2 brings together Broward organizations who support youth with behavioral health challenges and their families. This system of care is part of a national movement through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to improve the lives of children, youth, and young adults. OCP2’s mission is to support the wellness, recovery and resiliency of youth and young adults with mental health challenges and substance abuse.
    • This year’s event will convey OCP2’s messaging about the physical and emotional effects of trauma can impact ones health across a lifetime. There is help available in the community for those who need it, “Trauma is Real, but so is Hope.”
    • During the event, guests will be treated to original music by “Face Tha Musik” with performers from Youth M.O.V.E. Broward and a special guest speaker.
    • The performance will be followed by a “Wellness Champions Award Recognition” ceremony that will recognize young people, families and community members who make a difference through their work and personal stories of hope and strength.
    • By using the hashtag “IAmNotMyTrauma”, Broward County youth and families who attend the event will have the chance to participate in a social media contest for a chance to win a brand new bike.
